Welcome Back

Greetings and Welcome Home!

A huge thank you to everyone for being flexible and putting in the extra effort to help us with our earliest opening in 15 years!

While we got a helping hand from mother nature, without everyone’s hard work and resiliency we would not be getting powder laps in before Thanksgiving.

New traffic signal coming soon!

Anyone that has worked at Mt Hood Meadows for a season can probably tell you about encountering cars coming in and out of the Sunrise Parking lot. This intersection is built on a corner that makes it difficult to see oncoming traffic. It is also on a hill that can make getting started on a snow or ice packed road difficult.

Starting December 15th, we will be installing a new traffic light in the Sunrise intersection to aid cars leaving the parking lot. When traffic is stopped on the access road cars exiting Sunrise will not need to stop to go up hill. It will also aid in reducing cashes due to the blind corner.  Be on the lookout for this traffic light and please obey the signal

Employee Camping

You asked, we listened, and the Forest Service approved!

New this season we will be offering overnight “camping” to approved team members at the Nordic Center parking lot.

With room for up to 24 vehicles at one time (no tent camping permitted), we hope offering this will help ease the housing stress for some of our Team Members while mitigating the urge to camp in close by snoparks.

We will begin accepting applications on December 2nd.

Permit requirements:

  • Successful completion and approval of application and release of liability; including agreement to abide by all rules and regulations set forth in this program.
  • Proof of valid driver’s license, current insurance and current registration.  The Board shall be notified of any changes of vehicle, license, insurance or registration.
  • Vehicle must be adequately equipped for winter driving (4WD, snow tires or chains).
  • Current Oregon Sno-Park Permit
  • Acknowledgement and agreement of camping rules, regulations and consequences for violations. (See team site for more details)
  • The administration cost for each permit is:
    • Annual – $50.00
    • Nightly – $5.00
  • The permit must stay with the vehicle.
  • MHM Team Overnight Permits are non-transferable.

This is a pilot program, in order for it to be successful we must adhere to the rules and requirements. Any changes or updates to this program will be noted on the team site.
